Cardinals’ Manager Mike Shildt joins 2019 Speaker Line-up

St. Louis Cardinals Manager Mike ShildtWe are extremely excited to announce that St. Louis Cardinals manager, Mike Shildt, has been added to our 2019 speaker lineup.  Shildt will speak on Monday (January 21st) at 10:50am.  Shildt becomes the sixth MLB manager to speak at the I-70 Clinic through our 16 years.   Shildt has coached at the high school level, college level and the professional level, which will give him a great opportunity to connect with coaches at all levels in our audience!

Second 2019 Speaker, Derek Johnson

Johnson was pitching coach of the Commodores baseball team from 2002 to 2012. In 2012, he left Vanderbilt to be the minor league pitching coordinator for the Chicago Cubs. Prior to the 2016 season, the Milwaukee Brewers hired Johnson to be their pitching coach. Derek Johnson is thought to be one of the most creative and innovative pitching coaches in the country.  Derek previously spoke at the I-70 Clinic in 2010 and we are very excited to bring him back to Greenville in January of 2019!

First 2019 Speaker Confirmed, Jason Ochart.

Jason Ochart in Driveline baseball hat and shirtThe I-70 Baseball Coaches Clinic is happy to announce our first confirmed speaker for our 2019 clinic, Jason Ochart. He has been referred to as a “technology-oriented” person and has a strong passion for teaching and sharing his knowledge of the game. Currently, Jason is Director of Hitting at Driveline Baseball a Seattle based biomechanics lab doing research and training for professional hitters. At this years clinic he will be covering “Hitting: Team Practice Design” and “Applying Sports Science to Coaching Hitters”. Jason’s skills and experience provide a perfect start to our 2019 line-up of speakers and we are excited to have him on board.
