All-Time Winningest Coach Mike Martin Joins 2019 Speaker Line-up

Mike Martin and Jack Leggett on baseball field shaking handsThe I-70 Baseball Coaches Clinic is proud to announce that College Baseball’s All-Time Winningest Coach, Mike Martin from Florida State University, will be speaking here in January.  Coach Martin will surpass 2,000 career wins in the 2019 season, which will be his final season in the Seminoles dugout.  Martin, a 2007 ABCA Hall of Famer, has taken 16 teams to Omaha for the College World Series and has taken an amazing 41 straight Seminole teams into the postseason.  Martin’s teams have won 40+ games in 41 straight years and have won 50+ games an incredible 24 seasons.  We are honored to have Coach Mike Martin speaking twice at the 2019 I-70 Baseball Coaches Clinic.

Second 2019 Speaker, Derek Johnson

Johnson was pitching coach of the Commodores baseball team from 2002 to 2012. In 2012, he left Vanderbilt to be the minor league pitching coordinator for the Chicago Cubs. Prior to the 2016 season, the Milwaukee Brewers hired Johnson to be their pitching coach. Derek Johnson is thought to be one of the most creative and innovative pitching coaches in the country.  Derek previously spoke at the I-70 Clinic in 2010 and we are very excited to bring him back to Greenville in January of 2019!

First 2019 Speaker Confirmed, Jason Ochart.

He has been referred to as a “technology-oriented” person and has a strong passion for teaching and sharing his knowledge of the game. Currently, Jason is Director of Hitting at Driveline Baseball a Seattle based biomechanics lab doing research and training for professional hitters. At this years clinic he will be covering “Hitting: Team Practice Design” and “Applying Sports Science to Coaching Hitters”. Jason’s skills and experience provide a perfect start to our 2019 line-up of speakers and we are excited to have him on board.

We have added new Missouri pitching coach Fred Corral to our speaker lineup. He is a highly sought after speaker and we are very happy to bring him here!

Bench Coach Pat MurphyMilwaukee Brewers bench coach Pat Murphy spoke here in 2014 and is a very sought after speaker during the winter months. Murphy will speak multiple sessions. Pat Murphy
Coach Jerry Weinstein is one of the most highly sought after clinicians in the country. He is currently the AA manager for the Colorado Rockies. He has coached at all levels of baseball, including: high school, junior college, Cape Cod league, Minor Leagues and in MLB with the Rockies. Coach Weinstein was the manager for Team Israel in the World Baseball Classic in 2017.
Fred Corral Coach Corral has worked as pitching coach at Georgia, Tennessee, Memphis and Oklahoma and this is his first year at Missouri. Fred Corral
Chris Burke is one of the top hitting instructors in the Midwest. He is one of the top baseball players in SEC history, was a top draft pick and a former MLB infielder. He currently owns and operates the Chris Burke Baseball facility in Louisville.
